Special Meeting

Roger Song spearheaded a petition to force a special meeting of lawyers in Alberta to eliminate Rule 67.4. The meeting was held February 6, 2023 and the motion was soundly defeated 2,609 to 864. See:

• A January 30, 2023 letter of Glenn Blackett, explaining why Rule 67.4 was outside of the Law Society’s jurisdiction;
• A January 31, 2023 letter of Roger Song, explaining why Rule 67.4 was outside of the Law Society’s jurisdiction;
• A January 31, 2023, letter from the Law Society’s governing body, the “Benchers” explaining why the motion should be defeated;
• A February 2, 2023, letter opposing the motion.
